Bottle in Maui. Aroma is malt, slight nut, flavor is nutty, some roasty notes, pretty good brown though, easy drinking.

I had this on tap at the Hula Grille in Ka’anapali, Maui, Hawaii. It’s a nice roasty brown ale.

Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - APR 11, 2012
Single bottle purchased from a small store in Hanalei on Kaua’i island on 04/09/2012. Colour: Kind of a dark amber with medium lightly off-white head. Nose: Starches and yeast. Hazelnut/macademia nut, glazed donut, slight gaseous aroma. Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Big onslaught of caramel then resides to light toasted nut. Simple but effective flavor.

bhensonb (12149) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 2, 2012
Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark amber with a beige head. Aroma of roast malt, hops and hint of chocolate. Med body. Flavor is very smooth brown ale, not harsh like some. It’s just off dry.

Bottle from beerboxer. Pours amber with a thick beige head and a burnt toffee aroma. There is a hearty brown ale flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish.

Looks like sewer sludge poured into a glass. Hardly any head. Not much aroma either. Taste is nutty, full malt flavor. Nice hop finish washed away the sweetness. Nothing Earth shattering here, but I’d order another one.

Pours bronze brown with a cream large head. Aroma is malts And spices. Flavor is a bit malty and charcoal. Descent for what it is! I’m in Hawaii who cares!

From bottle into regular shaker pint. Pours medium brown and turns bright ruby in the light. Head is thin, but persistent--forms a tight cap on the beer. Sweet, milk chocolate aroma. Palate is pretty balanced, though leaning towards crisp, for a brown ale. Flavor is rich roast, some chocolate, some earth, some fruit, with a bitter finish. Really nice brown ale, especially on Christmas in the early afternoon in Maui!

Aubrey (3482) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - DEC 7, 2011
Bottle at PAU in Weimea (Kamuela), Big Island: Surprisingly delicious brown ale -- better than most out there. Very rich with wholesome flavors -- nuts, chocolate and toast. Not overly sweet like many browns. Solid hops to boot as well, but they didn’t overpower the malts (as they shouldn’t in this style). Well made beer. I actually had two in a row.
