Murky reddish brown color with a small light tan head.
Prunes, sweet dark fruits, mild hops, mild bitterness and sweet malt in the aroma.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
22 oz. can from Safeway in Lahaina. Unusual musty aroma from a very hazy orange/brown body with almost no head. Nutty, slightly roasted malt taste along with a juicy pineapple sweetness. The flavor is kind of muddled and disjointed. Leaves a sweet, sugary taste along with a bit of the nut flavor. It gets better as you drink it, but itís still not very good.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can from the brewery. Brownish-amber colour. Aroma is phenolic Belgian yeast notes, a bit bubblegummy and definitely dubbel-ish. On the palate, it is quite sweet, with a fair bit of alcohol. Dominated by phenols (esp. bubblegum) and a good dose of malt. I guess the problem is the malt is a bit muddled and indistinct, the hops are noticeable but not balancing, and ultimately I canít really figure out what Iím drinking or why. As this is their best-seller, Iím apparently in the minority.
