"A red, spicy, malty, yet dry, fuller bodied English Ale. An initial malty taste and aroma giving way to a long dry finish."

Cask, Alloa Beer Festival 07. Hoppy lively and some bitter aroma. Hout is slightly medicinal orange, flat maltiness, bit flimsy on the body, but it finishes bittersweet and holds well. Bit nondescript, with a touch of spice.

After a run of stouts and porters, this beer, not surprisingly, came over as a much more commonplace effort. As the programme suggested, there’s a distinct reddish tinge to the colour. It’s a malty, rather than hoppy, best bitter, but the malt is dry and the overall impression is of a well balanced beer. Decent stuff. Cask (gravity dispense), Ipswich Beer Festival.

Bright bottled at Chappel Fest. An Irish Red sort of bitter. Red tones. Dark, roasty with a pleasant damp and autumnal sweetness.
