Aroma: Mild aroma of elderflower, earth and straw.

Appearance: Clear golden body with a thin off-white head that holds really well. Flat carbonation. Excellent lacing.

Taste: Fresh, grassy hop with biscuity, bready malt flavours. Nicely balanced with a bitter finish.

Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation.

Overall: A tasty, sessionable Bitter from an excellent brewery.

Cask. Light gold ale with a centimetre of white head. Lemon and lime nose. Light bitter lemons and mandarin with a light toasty malt. Pleasant enough.

Cask at GBBF 2012. Pours a pale gold colour, hoppy aroma, with malt and some fruit as well, the taste is soft malt and hops, with a long dry finish.

Handpull at The Wenlock Arms. Clear brassy gold with a tiny off-white head. Taste and aroma are really good - oily grain, maybe giggles for hops (pungent and acidic and very fresh) plus a nice bit of unripe apricot in the mix - just a wee bit of alcohol. Thick and chewy, mild but appropriate carbonation, with a nice chewy oily finish. One of the better ones I have had this trip.

On cask. Pale, biscuit, cereal, hay, straw, grass, fruits, phenols. Too phenolic in the taste at first, but calms down.

[cask, The Caley Sample Room, Edinburgh] Pale golden beer, nice white head. The first beer of a major session – the perfect start. Bready from the malt, with an excellent dry bitterness. Aftertaste is of crusty bread. Really sessionable and a solid bitter [12072012]

Nice pale as well as hoppy aroma , although has an ordinary but fresh bitterness when drunk.

From Cask at Ello’s party. Darkish orange colour with a minimal beige head. Nose of fragrant hop, fruits and caramel with similar traits displayed in the flavour. Soft and easy drinking. Decent dry bitter finish. Very sessionable bitter. Tidy.
