Pale amber. Sweet nose, dry, ashy finish. Light body and a great deal of bitterness. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 25, 2008 Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre BF, Liverpool. Both Hawkshead beers at this fest were good. Gold/copper with thin beige head. Rather a nice floral aroma. Aromatic hops. Now that I like. Good tasty hop on finish is like strawberry sherbert. Tasty bitter. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Nov 18, 2006 Cask@Twickenham BF. A fairly average bitter. Balanced between the hop and malt notes. Some grainy malt and citric hops. Although it is light in both departments. Slightly earthy notes aswell. A little weak, but drinkable. imdownthepub (4250), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jul 30, 2006 Cask conditioned at The Watrmill Inn, Ings, Cumbria. Pale amber with bubbly head. This is a great little session bitter, hoppy and bright, crisp with a citric fruity background. Lip smacking grapefruit on the finish. A very enjoyable pint indeed. Magicdave6 (4092), London, Greater London, England Dec 10, 2007 Updated: Jun 2, 2008Cask in the bitter end. Aroma is citrus, pale malts, dusty fruit. Taste is similarly well balanced biscuity pale malts, tart fruit, citrus, dry and really well made. RERATE:Upto 4 from 3.8. Cask ion Balckfriars. Exactly the same rating as above, but just soo incredibly drinkable. My god, what a session ale. RERATE: UPTO 4.4 FROM 4. Cask at the hewkshead beer hall. Such amazing piney hop character soo fresh soo drinkable. World beater when it comes to bitters.
