Cask from the Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark with just a slight red tinge when held up to the light. Nice creamy lasting head. Very smooth taste with coffee and chocolate. Enjoyable and easy drinking, but lacks depth for me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On keg at The Hanging Bat.
Appearance - opaque black with big crema head.
Aroma - roasty and chocolatey. But too cold really to get much more than that.
Taste - chocolate, then liquorice, maybe a bit of smoke.
Palate - medium bodied with decent texture and a relatively well balanced dry finish.
Overall - somewhere between a regular stout style and a dry stout style, I think. Happy to drink it but would like to try it again at room temperature.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours black with a good tan head. Quite light aromas, but roasted coffee and dark chocolate are there. Taste follows through, then a very dry finish. Good quaffing stout.

Dense black with dessert beige Big lasting head. Guinness microlooked. Sadly steely keg soft clinical roast nosed too. Soft cooling mouthfeel, not hammering but cheap pepper mouthfeel on finish. Bready mocha vibe on linger. Actually could drink a lot, if I’d a reason to drink nothing else
Keg, Hanging Bat

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, thanks to Colin. It pours cloudy deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, toast ash, earth, spice, charcoal, caramel and toffee. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, charcoal, spice, wood and cocoa with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Easy drinking and smooth, yet nothing special. Ok.
