A dry oatmeal stout, named after that enduring feature of the Lake District landscape, the dry stone wall and the skilled craftsmen who build them. Aromas of chocolate and coffee, complex rich deep flavours from a blend of 7 malts, moderate bitterness and a long dry finish make Dry Stone Stout a satisfying and warming black beer.

Cask in North Bar, Leeds. Pours a pitch black, small head. Aroma is great - coffee, chocolate, roasted.malts, oatmeal sweetness. Taste is fairly bitter and dry - coffee, minerals, some bramble, some roasted malts. Thinner body than I’d like, but dry and almost chalky in the finish. Good.

Cask at the Express, OK that is dry! Black, with a little cocoa on the nose, a dry and lightly spicy body, faint hints of red fruit and milk chocolate, a little burnt cocoa, and then a firmly dry-bitter finish.

Keg at the Moo Bar, Carlisle. Brownish black with a small creamy head. Nutty and herbal aroma. Clean bittersweet taste with a shortish finish, carrying notes of coffee and vanilla. Uncomplicated but very tasty.
