A dry oatmeal stout, named after that enduring feature of the Lake District landscape, the dry stone wall and the skilled craftsmen who build them. Aromas of chocolate and coffee, complex rich deep flavours from a blend of 7 malts, moderate bitterness and a long dry finish make Dry Stone Stout a satisfying and warming black beer.

Cask at The Waterhouse, Manchester (jdw). Opaque dark reddish brown w/ thin tan head. Aroma is standard stout. Taste is nothing out of the ordinary either but it comes together particularly well. Malty, chocolatey, fruity (cherry), nice lingering bitterness. Well balanced.

Keg @ Man in the Moon. Black with a creamy tanned head, good lacing. Milky roasted aroma, nice notes of ash. Dry taste, chocolate, cocoa, milk and cream.

500ml, bottle-conditioned. Pours black, with thick tan head. Aroma coffee, dark malt. Taste: same, reasonable bitterness. Palate: sweetness at first, then dry finish. Overall: pleasant, gently-flavoured stout.

Cask at the brewery. Opaque black / dark brown coloured pour with a steadfast mid tan coloured head. Aroma is woody roasted black malt, black coffee and cream. Flavour is composed of woody, charred woody, milky coffee. Little coconut. Dry finish. Bug nice flavoursome dry stout. Really xolid. Palate is medium bodied. Smooth, semi dry finish.

Cask at the Express, OK that is dry! Black, with a little cocoa on the nose, a dry and lightly spicy body, faint hints of red fruit and milk chocolate, a little burnt cocoa, and then a firmly dry-bitter finish.
