COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Golden Ale. Hoppy and uncompromisingly bitter with complex fruit flavours from the blending of a modern English hop, First Gold, with the outrageously fruity American hop, Cascade. A hopheads’ beer... with balance. A real beer drinkers beer.

On cask in Ambleside at a restaurant cafe type of place called Stiles. Appearance - golden orange with a nice head. Nose - orange and barley. Taste - more orange barley water. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - it’s a style that most of the top UK brewers have managed to capture in at least one of their beers. Nothing new but no need to change it.

Copper, good white head. Very little aroma to speak of. Slightly earthy, wood and cardboard, citrus, cereal and light honeyed sweetness. Moderately bitter. Smooth with low carbonation. Not bad but not that distinctive.

My Bottom Line:
Honeyed base malts share lightly toasted angles, as wooden hops delve into spicy bitterness for a smashing Golden Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam thrones atop the shiny copper-hued golden, lacing beautifully.
-Hops also produce some earthy characteristics.
-Light minerals are tasted.
-Mouthfeel is very comfortable and drinkability optimal.
-This cask is in superb shape.

On cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell.

Cask @ Craft Clerkenwell. Gold with a small head. The nose is light fart, peach. Lemon, white bread. The taste is zippy summer fruit salad. A bit of citrus, pale malt. Somewhat bready on the finish. Very light body. Overall, pleasant. An easy drinker.

Cask@The Criterion, Leicester. Amber beer with a strongish head. The aroma is lightly fruity, and the flavour is bitter with hops and a lot of dryness. Overall a reasonable dry beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Subtle aroma of grapefruit and straw.

Appearance: Clear golden body with a thin white head that gradually fades. Flat carbonation. Very light lacing.

Taste: A straightforward Golden Ale. Light fruit and biscuity, pale malt.

Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation.

Overall: A light, simple Golden Ale. Lovely.

Cask conditioned handpump Veritas Leeds 23/09/12. A golden beer with a big tight white head and lace. The nose hints at decent bittersweet balance but is a bit plain. It cmes alive a bit more in the mouth with good hops and a nice malt backbone. It has a fine flavour profile and in another world would be really good but actually it’s all a bit plain.
