It’s lager, but it’s tasty. Lager/ pilsner is a great beer style, given a bad name by multi-national fizz. This is, as you would expect, pale, with restrained but fresh hop character from European lager hops. Lager malt has been used, but the rules broken by using ale not lager east.
Rarely in cask, but when it is it flies out. Brewed largely for bottle.

Quite misleading name for this ... ale is ale, not lager. Clear golden color, mostly vanishing white head. Neutral aroma has fruits and barley. Light-bodied. Sweetish malty, Saaz spiceyness and grass, cardboardish. Even this is an ale, really neutral and paperish (thanks for green bottle?) flavor.

-on tap at Thorney how, Grasmere- Clear golden with white head. Floral, spicy and malty. Crisp and sweet finish. Good! The ale yeast has created a good result.

Bright golden with a medium white head, decent lacing. Aroma is lager hops, malty, floral, bread. Simple in palate: malts, bread, lager hops, notes of lemon and grass. Typical lagerish malt backbone, crisp, perfect if chilled, as lagers used to be before the macro "involution".

330 ml green bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Clear light golden yellow colour; Near zero head with residual soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Fair good sticky lacing with zero carbonation; Quite pungent smell of malt, with yellow fruits, grains, strong floral, sugar, bread, lemon and strong smelly grass; Medium sweet taste of lager malt, with very light yellow fruits, strong floral, light molasses, light bread, light lemon, moderate bitter hops and strong grass; Light body. Thin but slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is good lager maltyness in a heavily wheat thinned background. Strong flower and grassy hops dominate, with some faint yellow fruitiness from the top yeast. Fairly sweet but pleasant, no off-taste. Fair lemon to round. Clean and good!... Hoppiness is strong floral, lemon and strong grass in nose and taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting with closer to mid astringent sweet bitter finish; Fairly dry after taste. Flowery and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: Compares to Suntory’s Kaoru Premium, this top-cropped “lager” is simpler with much less fanfare in fruity ester. Solid malt-wise, with strong floral grassy hops to round up some nice after dinner enjoyment. A close second to German Pilsner, definitely worth a try!
