COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle - also occasionally available in cask.
Itís lager, but itís tasty. Lager/ pilsner is a great beer style, given a bad name by multi-national fizz. This is, as you would expect, pale, with restrained but fresh hop character from European lager hops. Lager malt has been used, but the rules broken by using ale not lager east.
Rarely in cask, but when it is it flies out. Brewed largely for bottle.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. pours clear golden yellow, thick white head. Light floral and grassy aromas, light malt. Taste is more of the same. Clean finish. Refreshing, if not exciting.

Flowers on the nose. Hoppy bitterness instantly then some grass, moving on to some malty sweetness, it then tuns around and goes back to some more hops at the finish. Nice, hoppy without being hops set to kill, a nice lager

Keg at Bat. A dull lager, very much a product of itís style. A poor relation to itís European counterparts.

Beer Flight choice, from the keg menu at the Hanging Bat. Crystal clear golden body. Diminishing white head. Half dry nose of noble hops and earthy malts. Pale malty taste with grass-fruity notes behind. Smooth ending, oily palate. Refreshing lager. Nice partner to the food (Edinburgh 11.08.2013).

Countbeer (4301) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUN 17, 2013
Bottle: Served in a De Koninck taster: Clear light yellow pour. Very small white foamy head which changes directly into a very thin lacing on top and some bubbles on the side of a clear yellow colored beer. Aromas of hops, floral tones, malts, some soap, flowers, like a good hopped lager. Flavours are a nice mix of floral tones, cream, some hops, grass, floral tones, herbs, some malts, bread, pretty crisp. Aftertaste is bitter, floral, malty, grass and some herbal hops. Low to medium carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, low to medium body and a creamy texture. Pretty nice, a mix of a lager, golden ale and english pale ale.

Aroma: Very clean aroma of straw and faint citrus.

Appearance: Clear golden body with no head. Very light carbonation. No lacing marks.

Taste: Clean, lightly fruity taste. No metallic harshness like you get with most mass produced lagers.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation.

Overall: About as good as a lager can be - clean, crisp and refreshing. The absence of additives you get in mass produced lagers makes this a good example of the style.

Looks like a lager but feels like an ale. Has a slight pale aroma and mild hopped taste.

Bottle @ Red Squirrel
Golden, clear, good frothy white head
Aroma - light pale malt, soft spicy sazz hops, soft sweet malts, very light citrus
Taste - as aroma, nice sweet light caramel golden malts, soft spicy hops, really good tasting lager
Palate - medium carb and body, soft bitter light sweet caramel malts. Finish as main flavour = soft spicy hops, no metal or harsh crap like other lagers
Overall - Not a fan of lagers but I really enjoyed this - itís a super example of the style. Didnít seem like a golden ale to me when out of the bottle.

Keg at Holyrood 9A. Pale golden yellow, thin white head fades to almost nothing. Restrained nose, soft Saaz spice, lemon, nice hint of dewy freshness. Surprisingly soft carbonation, nice toasty bready malt and soft, refreshing spritzy sherbet hops. Soft lightly bitter finish. Lovely stuff.
