COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Keg & Bottle - Brewed with several varieties of New Zealand hops and created by a Kiwi, Head Brewer Matt Clarke. Passionfruit, mango and apricot aromas and a citrus bitterness are balanced by the sweetness of English Maris Otter barley to produce an extraordinary beer which showcases the unique hops of New Zealand.

Pint at The Beer Hall Staveley. Hazy amber with a clinging white head. Lime and tropical fruit, and a hint of cat pee in the aroma. Tropical fruit, stewed tea green vine flavour. Some astringency in the finish. For me, strongly reminiscent of Oakham Green Devil IPA, and not quite achieving the true lip-smacking I had hoped. But still a very good beer.

On cask at Hawkshead Beer Hall, Staveley - Clear orange body, thin white head. Lovely hop nose, bright tropical fruit character, hints of gooseberry, pineapple. grapefruit, orange peel. Refreshingly dry and juicy with a lovely pithy grapefruit bitterness that goes on and on.

Bottled, 500ml from Boothís in Kendal, Cumbria. Gold with white head. Juicy, fruity beer with a bitter edge, gooseberry and mango hints, drying later. Pretty decent.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a large white head, which remains. Aroma is slightly earthy and citrus. Taste is piney hops, mango, slight caramel and butterscotch with a whiff of bitterness throughout. Solid with a full body and a lovely silky cask mouthfeel.

10.4.2014. Mild, lemonish aroma. Sth similar in aroma and taste, some fruit, but its stuffy. Also citrus, bitter. Too simple.

Bottle. Booths, Ilkley. Murky, dark gold. Film of white head. Not a looker. Doesnít drink that great, either. Itís like a beer thatís been stored too warm. Iíd have to say that one or two of the beers I last got from Booths, have been like this. I donít think this is how it left the brewery...

I like the passion fruit thing going on, the aroma is nice, but i thought this was íhardí drinking, not for any not pleasant things, but that I thought each mouth was like a hammer blow, and I wanted something more measured and longer in drinking, this is one of those short drinks, it all happens up front, then a gap, and then you are left with a lingering thing that makes you frown a bit, as if like you didnít enjoy it, making you a bit gun-shy.

Drinking this a couple of weeks before its best-by-date on the opposite side of the world, so itís not anywhere near fresh. The punchy hop aroma that others mention has been replaced by the smell of concrete after a rain, the ícrystal clearí is now hazy straw, yet the taste and palate are damn good. My god, I imagine this would be in the mid-to-high FOURS fresh.
