From the keg menu at the Hanging Bat, one third pint. Orange-gold coloured body, near-clear. Diminishing white head, fragile lacing. Inviting citrus hoppy nose. Blended flavours of pineapple and grapefruit offset by lightly sweet pale malts. Super fresh fruit bitter aftertaste. Smooth in the mouth. Medium bodied. A pleasure to drink this one (Edinburgh 11.08.2013).

My Bottom Line:
This New World Pale Ale’s peppery, citrusy hop resins establish themselves on the tongue for the long run, leaving plenty of bitterness on top of suave honeyed malts.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam laces well atop the misty honey gold.
-The hop aroma was brash compared to the bright hop flavour and finish.
-Drinkability is hindered by the high intensity of the flavour profile.
-The mouthfeel is slick and professionally rendered. This was a well tendered cask as well.

On cask at Old Fountain.

Bottle. Live rate. Brilliant gold with a soft, thinning white collar. Aroma of lime zest, mango, liquorice and...lager top. Like I’d know. Good stewed tea, liquorice and tropical notes rounded with biscuit and bitterness. Nice, but somehow disappointing.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours a clear amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy grapefruit and pine with a grain backbone. Flavor has bitter grapefruit with light pine as well as a touch of light grain.

Scopey (6238) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2013
Bottle from Nelson Wines. It pours clear golden yellow with a bubbly white head. The nose is pine, passion fruit, grapefruit, elderflower and Welch’s grape juice. The taste is pine, straw, resin, assertive bitterness, pithy citrus, grapefruit, pepper and floral notes with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice hopped-up pale ale.

On gravity at the Volunteer, Bristol 30/3/2013. Golden with a thin white head. Big aroma of grapefruit, clementines and pine. Flavour had a lot of tropical fruit, solid malts, goosberries and a dry finish. Very good.

33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Pale amber with a thin white head; sweet tropical fruit aroma; full of fruity flavours, clemantine and satsuma to start, then becoming more grapefruity, and with a strong, sharp, cirusy bitterness; and a lingering finish. A really good Pacific style IPA.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Bitter with some hopiness.Very clean taste with the bitterness overpowering the hop presence which surprised me. A good if not exceptional one.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours pale yellow, with not much of the head variety. Smells like the bread counter in a Polski Sklep. Taste is initially ’not massive’, with only a frozen pond topping of lemon; but through the finish it grows and grows into a very dry hoppy beast. As I said, very dry. The hops are supremely refreshing and it has a good lightness on the tongue. Cuts through thirst.

Cask @ ACBF 2012: clear, slightly dark orange with a white head, smell reminds me a bit of nelson sauvignon, herbal & floral hops as well, taste is bitter, herbal, floral hops but also some white grapes & melon, slight white berries, slightly fizzy, touch watery cask thingy but quite nice anyway, pint-able
