Cask at Craft Beer Co. Pours pale gold, white foamy head. Nose is big and bold hoppy pale ale. Gooseberry and grapefruit with lime, spice and pinewood. Taste is grapefruit and gooseberry bitter fruit and spicy woody notes. One of the best British versions of a pale ale I’ve ever had. Excellent.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear, pale goldd with a bubbly white head. Quite an enthralling nose. Interesting hops featuring penny bubble gum and custard. The body is a little watery with little to no malt flavour. The hops are powerful and I was left with a fairly strong bitter finish. Quite nice. The hops were unusual enough to make it interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at Earl of Essex, Islington. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is fruity with funky earthy veg. Medium body mild carbonation. It's fusty, grassy, a bit of melon, grapefruit, ash. Nice bitter finish. Slightly unusual, but tasty enough. Nice.

330ml bottle from Beermoth. Aroma is pine pot pourri crossed with a fresh flowery summer meadow.. lots of citrus & pine with a resinous aftertaste.. not too full on mind, but a very fresh juicy beer nonetheless.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at Tweedies Bar, Grasmere. Murky gold with a thin white head. Big citrus and floral hit with a very dry finish. Loads of hops here but lacked the depth and balance of ghe Hardknot Infra-Red I’d had just before, and maybe suffered by comparison. Still decent though.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Cask, Hawkshead BF. Amazingly creamy, pale hoppy ale. Gooseberry in the aroma, peaches in the taste, bags and bags of flavour, with a massive finish. Beats the Cumbrian 5 Hop for me and that takes some doing!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home. Vivid orangey amber with a thin, short-lived white head that leaves some light lacing. Lovely hop nose, bright tropical fruit character, hints of gooseberry, pineapple. grapefruit, orange peel. Refreshingly dry and juicy with a lovely pithy grapefruit bitterness that goes on and on. Mouthfeel is spot-on. Lovely stuff.
