Bottled, pasteurised, 500 ml. Chestnut red with white bubbly head, reasonable condition. Good rich malty flavour with a caramel background and a lasting bitterness. Sharp on the close with a little floral note. Reasonable pasteurise beer.

Deep, dark red body with medium white to off-white head. Good malty aroma with hints of grain and toasted nuts. Tremendously snappy full flavoured bite on the first draw with that sweetly bitter taste so much loved in ESB’s. Body and carbonation held but the flavour quickly retreated to metallic lightly soapy taste by mid-pint. The head droppped off fairly quickly leaving little to no lacing by mid-pint.

Bottled. Deep chestnut red, thin white head and moderate condition. Chocolate, hops and mushrooms in the nose, but it went down hill from there. Some malt apparent in the mouth but a chemical/phenolic note starts to dominate. Some hop bitterness in the finish but again spoilt by a dry chemical note.
