Bottle. Brownish reddish beer with a very strong frothy light brown head. The aroma is lightly roasted and the flavour is very deeply roasted and bitter with a caramel finish. Overall a nice deeply bitter and roasted beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (3267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 5, 2011
500ml bottle listed at 4.4%ABV pours amber in color with a small white head which leaves little lacing. Aroma is light caramel with a hint of hops. Taste is light caramel sweetness and a moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body and decent carbonation provide an adequate mouthfeel. A decent enough beer, but nothing really stands out.

30th July 2011 ChrisOs ’Donkey Dork Lord’ Pre-GBBF Tasting. Hazy amber beer, little off white head. Sweet malt, a little creamy and a little bit of chocolate. Not much else here other than some tired malt.

Pours a lovely dark chestnut with a creamy coloured head which then leaves some lace. Caramel on the nose, and malt in the falvour. Dry finish.

500ml bottle (ChrisO’s pre-GBBF2011 "Donkey Dork Lord" shindig) - BB2005
Dry and oxidised, but that’s 2005 beer for you. It has certainly aged quite well. A little buttery, again little surprise there. Nutty and nut-papery, a touch of old books. Not really a valid rating, as the brewer specifically told you to not drink it in 2011. But as is survived pretty OK, it’s worth noting that. It’s also worth noting that you should drink it fresh, you silly people!

Bottle, shared by Parksy. Ruby tinged amber, frothy beige cap. Aroma is nicely malty, sow brown sugar, light toast, hints of fruit. Lightly toasted malty flavor, fruit and cocoa nuances just barely there, woody hoppy bitterness in the end. It’s been a while since I’ve had a nice bitter, and this nicely fit the bill.
