Cask @ JDW. Clear pale gold. Tropical fruit aroma. Citrus and more tropical fruit to taste. Quite bitter, and lingering. Woukd be a very refreshing pint on a hot summers day, and very sessionable.

Cask, Gloucester Arms, Penrith. Beautifully pale citrusy beer. Crisp, sharp, medium dry, with a long, slightly tangy finish. Faintly spiky on the back of the throat, creamy mouthfeel, whilst retaining that bitter edge. A great summertime beer, with a pleasing flowery hop aroma.

Cask handpull, The City Arms, Coventry, 13/04/12. Straw gold lacing all the way. Shaved lemon, lychee and vanilla tea aroma. Lovely soft black tea bitterness; sweet vanilla, lychee. Stood out as a very good beer, even towards the end of a fairly hop-heavy session.

[cask at SIBA GNBF’11, Manchester] Slightly hazy golden beer pour with a decent white head from the sparkled festival. Herbal hoppy aroma, plenty of citrus in evidence. More on the flavour – positively grapefruity on the finish. Superbly sessionable and really very nice indeed. Only 3.5% as well – this is along the lines of Fyne Ales Jarl for packing flavour into little abv. Champion beer at the 2011 GNBF, and I’ve no qualms with that at all

Cask @ The Windsor Castle. Pours deep golden with a medium creamy white head. The nose is bright citrus, sugary lemon candy, grass, some honey and summery fruits. The taste is a burst of countryside fruity flavors. Some lemon, grapefruit, strawberry, rhubarb, white grape. There’s an assertive mild bitter hop presence. A bit of brash grassiness. Light dry finish. Very drinkable. It’s amazing that this beer’s only 3.5% Overall, great.
