Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear brown beer lasting beige head. Toffee aroma. Some decent malts. Not much hop. OK, if a little underdemanding.

330mL bottle, BeerBud Advent Pack. Pours deep copper brown with minimal head. Rich malty, toffee aromas, followed by malty, burnt caramel flavours with dark chocolate hints and moderate bitterness. Good depth but falls away a little at the finish. Interesting amber ale.

Copper/brown pour with a decent off white head. Toffee, slight chocolate aroma. Taste is similar, a little choc/caramel, ends a bit thin.

Westkyoto77 (588) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUN 19, 2015
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2015 Bottle. Fizzed up a bit on opening, but gave up beautiful creamy toffee aromas, lots of caramel and a hint of spice. Didn’t turn out as sweet as I’d feared, and fairly well balanced.

From bottle, pours dark amber with little head (perhaps a bit past its prime). Enjoyable rich malts: mollases and a bit of spice. Worth another visit.

The aromas of chocolate and caramel is pleasant, but on tasting this beer is thin and uninteresting when tasted. Disappointing.

Pleasant looking, no real aroma. Sweet at first but thin and doesn’t really do much of note until the peppery, metallic aftertaste.

Shared bottle at plonk. This is a malt driven amber ale with little hop aroma or flavour. Some toast and toffee pleasant malt flavours. Not bad.
