Going to have to assume this is what was being poured under the note "Belgian Pale " at the FoBAB documentary party on Jan. 10. Malty pale ale smell. Not much hop in the nose, but then there’s a tangy, hoppy taste to it. Like its cousins Orval and Maltida, has over savory components that set it apart from the average pale beer.

Sample from beerfest. Poured a hazy yellow color with a tiny white head that didn’t retain for very long. Aroma was some citrus hops, bubblegum, grass, and malts. Flavor was citrus, with some bread and yeast. Dry bitter in the finish. Good beer.

Sampled at the Midwest Belgian Beer Fest 2012 - pours hazy golden with a small white head. The aroma has tropical fruit, mango, pineapple, fairly toasty malt and fruity Belgian yeast. It has a medium / full body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma hops, bready malt and Belgian earthiness. The finish adds some spiciness and dough. Nice Belgian pale.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JMerritt (1677) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - AUG 16, 2012
On tap at Haymarket. Two-toned orange amber with a small white head. Really nice fruity apricot/nectarine aroma. Hops are really subdued in the flavor, lending a mild herbal, almost basil-like quality atop some light-to-moderately toasty grains, pretzel, and mild orange peel. Zesty, fresh finish. Super solid, I would be happy to toss these back all night.

On draft at brewub poured a murky light yellow color, aromas of grass, caramel, light fruit and some toast. Flavors are the same with some nuts. Ok beer overall.

On tap at the brewpub. This one was quite interesting. Poured a clear gold and had a very dry feel to it. Hoppy, but not overwhelming. Dryness was the prevailing feeling for this one - but not in a bad way. I couldn’t see myself having more than 1 or 2, but it was certainly worth a try.

On tap at the brewpub. Light yellow and a small head. Lacey. Funky aroma. A little sour, surprising malty.

On tap @ the brewpub. Very hazy light yellow. Incredible aroma! Sammy says "It smells like a summer day on an island!" Guava, white grapefruit, summer flowers, wheat malts. Light, crisp, and dry, but bursting with flavour. This, to me, is a perfect summer session ale. Outstanding!
