COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our ode to Oscar Neebe, yeast saleman, friend of the brewer and one of the three to survive the trial of the "Haymarket Eight". A straw colored Belgian ale dry-hopped with Amarillo hops. A great session ale!

On tap the pub...A super murky neon straw, strangely reminds me of a glass of yeast. A couple fingers of white head, good lacing...Yeast and lots of it, yeast, and lemons. Not bad, needs to be a little sweeter...The taste starts off very yeasty, but brings about some nice sweet notes.. The finish is chalky and surprisingly alcoholic, which is a big detractor. Besides the finish this is pretty easy to drink. Iíd have it again.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clouded, golden-orange colored body with an inch thick, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is banana with a good amount of citrus and Belgian yeast. Fairly lemony with a light wheat tartness as well. Flavor is similar. Banana and lemony citrus up front with a light wheat. Some yeast and a light tartness in the middle before the hops kick up towards the end and dry this out completely with a moderate, earthy and piney bitterness along with a slightly tart lemon, peppery yeast, and Belgian yeast. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and carbonation. Overall, a solid Belgian pale ale. Nice flavor and well hopped with a distinct Belgian yeast. Easy drinking and very flavorful for being only 4.5% ABV.

Tap at the brewpub on Dec. 6, 2011. Hazy yellow pour. Mild hop and yeast nose and taste. Pretty nice brew.

Little to no aroma, what is there is reminiscent of Belgian ales. Good, but somewhat bland.

Lots of floral aroma. Dark straw. Grassy. Pretty tasty. Midwest Belgian beer festival at perennial.

One if the better belgium pale ales I have had. Slightly fruity with a nice hop backbone. Smells lightly of fruit. Pour yellow in color. Had at haymarket ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Haymarket. The first of many from Peteís new shop! Pours a very turbid pale yellow, appearance is closer to a witbier than BPA, imo. Nose is tangerine, sulfur & marmalade. More estery than phenolic. Smells green. On taste, solid structure, actually has fermented pretty well (though the sulfur notes pervade) and mostly clean. Taste is still a bit green. Pleasant bitterness, full body and a bit yeasty. More of the citrusy notes as well. This could be good, just needs a couple more days in the conical, I think.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2011 4oz sampler at the brewpub... Pours a cloudy somewhat murky orange hue with a rhin to medium creamy white head... Aroma hefe type of yeast character with banana bubblegum and very light on the hops... Flavors are much of the same earthy somewhat green with Belgian yeast profile, somewhat muted in nature with very little hop bitterness coming through. Carbonation is semi-lively with a light to medium body. Flavors are somewhat muddled but I think theyíll work out the kinks with the brewing system soon to sharpen things up.

[Tap] Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a dull yellow color with a slight haze to it. Firm foam head was long lasting. Initial aroma of yeast esters, wheat malt and mild clove. The taste is of green apples, pear, lemongrass and light malts. Not particularly well balanced, but still pretty dry and sessionable. This would be better with a slight recipe tweek.

A very basic but thirst quenching and quaffable pale ale at a dirt cheap price.
