2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ogivlado (4444) - Zagreb, CROATIA - OCT 19, 2004
Canned(330ml). -golden coloured, minimum head, too much carbonated, malty aroma with hints of rice, just another ordinary lager
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JUN 22, 2004
Let’s get something straight here, there is nothing extra strong about any quality of this beer, mkay. Appearance is lightly golden, with a ton of carbonation and fastly fading soda head. Strong taste of adjuncts are present, chalky and very dry. Thin foamy and watery.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 zborgerd (186) - Mchenry, Illinois, USA - JUL 6, 2003
Week. Boring. Sour rice malt taste. Better than Kingfisher and Taj-Mahal, but that isn't saying much.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 DavefromChicago (201) - Illinois, USA - DEC 22, 2002
Promising malty aroma, large bottle. Medium carbonation. Flavor light and dry, also metallic, thin, and undistinguished. Pilsneresque dry bitter finish. A hybrid beer. Not bad with a beautifully prepared Indian meal, and surely no worse than other restaurant ethnics - i.e. Tsing Tao, Dos Equis, Carta Blanca, Kingfisher, et al. Like the others, I wouldn’t actually buy this at a packaged goods store.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 jpknight22 (171) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 11, 2002
Not overly impressed with this beer. For starters, I have no clue why this beer is labeled ’Extra Strong’ because it neither tastes nor contains a strong amount of alcohol. Just a watery taste with some bready overtones. In fact, I thought this beer was just average in every sense of the word. If you’re looking for a good Indian beer, try the Kingfisher Lager for a much more refreshing and fulfilling beer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Braudog (4607) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - AUG 11, 2002
Presented with a surprising head, but it was airy rather than foamy. Little bit of a malt flavor, but it’s mostly just a thin mediocre beer.
0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 joet (1876) - Fulton, California, USA - AUG 5, 2002
Sweet, slightly spicy yellow fizzy beer. Not much bitterness at all. Not as estery or alcoholic as 5000.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 austinpowers (2827) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 11, 2002
Since this is a 5% beer, I suggest it be renamed ’Haywards 5000’ for simplicity. It’s a decent brew but it’s simple and lacks any complexity. A moderate amount of malt does impart some flavor.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 JPDIPSO (4957) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 15, 2002
The weakest from this brewer. Minimalistic and all ways.
