DavefromChicago (201), Illinois, USA Dec 22, 2002 Promising malty aroma, large bottle. Medium carbonation. Flavor light and dry, also metallic, thin, and undistinguished. Pilsneresque dry bitter finish. A hybrid beer. Not bad with a beautifully prepared Indian meal, and surely no worse than other restaurant ethnics - i.e. Tsing Tao, Dos Equis, Carta Blanca, Kingfisher, et al. Like the others, I wouldn’t actually buy this at a packaged goods store. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Jun 11, 2002 Since this is a 5% beer, I suggest it be renamed ’Haywards 5000’ for simplicity. It’s a decent brew but it’s simple and lacks any complexity. A moderate amount of malt does impart some flavor. Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Aug 11, 2002 Presented with a surprising head, but it was airy rather than foamy. Little bit of a malt flavor, but it’s mostly just a thin mediocre beer. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Dec 29, 2004 Light gold. Nose grassy, some adjuncts. Flavor very sweet, a few hops. Standard lager, nothing offensive, just boring. MIBRomeo (1889), Wisconsin, USA Jul 30, 2005 looks like carbonated apple juice w/ a small white ok lacing head. smells of light rotten apples some malt.. and just not good. Palate is ok coating some body and a little bit of carbonation.. flavor is lightly malty some wheat a touch of tart bitter in the finish. Pretty blah but also pretty unoffensive.
