India’s largest selling strong beer, poised to be the number 1 brand in the country, with an annual sale of over 10 million cases. Smooth tasting yet with a malty flavour and enjoyably strong.

Damn you Dave. Damn you to hell. Pale lager body, no head or retention or lacing. Looks like lemonade or something, only not as much of a beery appearance as lemonade. I should give it a 1. Nose is full of chemicals and adjuncts, along with some pleasing fruit notes and malt. Flavor profile is identical, tastes like what I imagine drinking Lemon Pine-Sol would taste like. Light bodied, watery and forgettable. Wasn’t as bad as Four-0 or Red Horse, so there’s that at least.

Pour is a bright golden with almost no head at all. Aroma is vegitable and wet paper bag. Flavor is again wet paper bag with no redeaming qualities. I just got this to fill out a mix-a-sixer and did not look at the label. If i would have seen that this was a 7% pale lager from India i probably would have passed.

Thin golden colored body with a small head that is gone in a flash. Interesting aroma. It is a mix of corn, earth, and a bit of hop. Feels almost water thin with just a bit more carbonation. Flavor is pretty much what you get in the aroma with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Drinking this beer is like kissing your sister.

Had this at the bequest of a good Indian friend - he must have been homesick, but I was just trying to be nice after the first sip. He brought this to the party, and I gave him a Ruination 1pt 6 oz. I think I converted him. 5000 was not undrinkable, but I didn’t bother recording any real , color, flavor or other stats on it. Available by the barrel, basically, at Circle in Hopewell, NJ.

Bottle at HogTownHarry Fest ’08. Pale gold. Disappearing white head. No aroma. No flavour. Pretty damn awful as it just tastes of lemony metal. But it did come in a 17 year old girl’s knickers. Long story.....

(Can, Mfg 10/07, Batch 928) Pours a clear golden body with a fizzy white head. Aroma of corn grain. Flavor of corn, metallic, and mild grassy hops. Noticeable alcohol, but the 8% is not apparent.

Can straight from India via a coworker. Pale yellow with a soapy white head. Odd maltish aroma. Flavor grassy and sweet. Better than some of the style I’ve had but that’s not saying a whole lot.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2007 This beer is completely disgusting. Smells way off, tastes horrible. Artificial chemical sugary piss water. Honestly, do not buy this beer under any circumstances. This must be the Indian Steel Reserve. Absolute drainpour.
