Super Strong Beer
Indiaís largest selling strong beer, poised to be the number 1 brand in the country, with an annual sale of over 10 million cases. Smooth tasting yet with a malty flavour and enjoyably strong.

Soapy light head, "fizzy yellow beer"...pale and lifeless...smells like a cheap beer, sour yeast...pale thin and watery, no real flavor, except well the same sour yeastiness...drinkable but wont buy again...one positive note, the 7% is hidden in this "non-flavor" creation...goes well with the aged Barry Gibbs...this is a chuggle---chug it with a struggle

Bottle. Hmm, could a beer be anymore skunked? The only real points I give this beer is for the clear golden yellow color and perfect white head. Otherwise, horrible.

an aroma that at first seems fruity, but more careful study reveals a chemical or soapy quality something like tropical mr. clean. the taste of course reveals the same....quality (although it is different!). the bitterness that remains is of that same chemical turpentine enjoyable like substance. a bit of tea in there which surely helps to clean up the burp as well as the finish. clever and demoralizing.

Canned. Pale yellow coloured. Clear. Dense white head. Canny, light metallic sweet and fruity aroma. Flavour is quite sweet and light grassy. Has some sugary and fruity notes. Medium bodied. A bit dry. Has an alcoholwarming sweetish end. Alcohol is quite well hidden.

Large bottle. Not offensive, but nothing is here thatís really good or special in any way. At best it is mediocre. Alcohol presence is not that noticeable. Strong malt flavors and thatís just about it.

really nothing stood out or seperated itself with this beer from a slew of other mediocre lagers. malty flavor fairly carbonated with a light to medium finish. alcohol was slightly present.

A really unfortunate testimony to the state of beer here in India that this Malt Liquor is currently the top rated India beer. Fairly clean, looks good in a glass, and strong... but taste is heavy handed corn with alcohol fumes. If you try it, buy a few so at least you can forget what they taste like after.

Bottle: Poured a very dark yellow, almost copper, with a rapidly surrendering head of foam. A bit of a perfumey aroma, actually. This drinks with a slightly tart, slightly alcohol-laced lagery flavor. Not a stitch of offending starchiness here, but in lieu of what would be a nice hoppy finish, instead we get a musty mashy finish that brings it down. Not as bad as itís overall ranking would suggest. (#2966, 6/9/2007)

After a slew of crap lagers I at least can find some character. The colour is the usual lager looking with creamy head but is not bad. Nose is surprising, is it just because the previous ones were so poor? There is some clear evidence of malt and biscuity presence, albeit no hops. Asian beers donít have aroma. While the ABV is high (my can says alcohol strength not exceeding 8% so 7% cuts the mustard) it is not appreciably noticeable. This is OK(ish).

Almost golden body with a half decent head. Alcohol stands out on the nose followed by corn and malts. Taste is pretty ordinary and fairly thin, more corn notes some resin and more alcohol. Drinkable but not that enjoyable.
