2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This comes in a highly fancy foil-topped bottle. The taste is fancy too if by fancy you mean relatively flavorless for an eight percent malt liquor. It is a nice clear yellow orange and only reveals its general low quality w/ its lack of head. It smells pretty much like nothing and tastes like surgical tape and apple juice, which is not all that terrible considering the scope of flavors available on this planet. The carbonation in this serves the dual purpose of drying out the flavor and stopping your from drinking it too fast because it is way too vigorous. This stuff claims to be the world’s most popular strong beer and I can see why. It totally rearanges your brain and does not taste like some sort of vile toxic sludge. Probably if I had grown up in India I would have chugged this by the gallon as a young man. It is not a bad beverage at all. Well, actually, it is pretty bad but it serves the purpose for which it was made as well as anything on the planet which is kind of commendable after a fashion.

Ugh. To give you an idea, this was served to me in a paper bag at a bottle shop (Special Brews). Nose has a lot of corn in there, with a harsh liquor sweetness coming off it, like cheap booze. Taste is slightly sweet up front, and feels harsh and sickly. Bleh.

Not the worst of the beers I had in India. Pretty sweet with some corn syrup in the taste. The ABV is higher than average at 7% - I guess this is why the label proclaims it a "super strong beer." The label also trumpets the fact that the bottle is made out of glass, but I didn’t come across any beers in plastic bottles (thank heaven).

My favourite beer when I need it to get me pickled.
Take 6 of these whoppers, punch your taste buds with the hottest curry you have ever tasted and instantly enjoy the ensuing hours simulating what it feels like to be an alcoholic for over 40-50 years. My only regret is it's extremely hard to get in Australia.

Thanks erzengel!?!? Pours a typical yellow with almost no head. The smell is corn, sweet malt, cardboard and alcohol. The taste is sweet malt, corn syrup. Light/medium in body with active carbonation. Yuk!

From what I read, this is the largest selling of the numerous horrible Indian ’strong beers’. And it is a dreadful, smelly concoction. I cycled through and over the Himalayas a few years ago, and although the normal Indian beers are pretty dreadful, I did drink more than a few. One thing I avoided were these ’strong beers’, where any pretense of being flavorful or enjoyable is thrown to the wind in pursuit of higher ABV. Occasionally, in the mountains, this was the only thing available, and I found that, cut 50/50 with Sprite, I could get one or two down after a long day in the saddle. Seriously not recommended.

Bottle via Krampus from BoostIPA, pours a mostly clear golden with a small white head after an aggressive pour. Aroma of sweet corn, grain, and pennies. Taste like corn soaked in soap nasty sweetness into bitter vegetable compost.

Bottle from Beer Run. Pretty sweet addition to the selection. The pour’s medium gold with a big white head. The nose is pretty sweet. Loads of honeyed cardboard. Maybe some sugar cookie. The taste is crass. Strong chemical burn. Nasty. Not worth investigating further. Medium body, very fizzy. Very poor.

Very clear yellow pour via a 12oz boostle from bytemesis. Thanks? Here we go... Malt likka from India. Aromas of creamed corn, DMS, lotta cooked veggies. Sticky sweet. Very low carb. Finishes extra sweet with a note of fuck you. No.

Bottle share thanks to Homer321. Ms. Homer says "Hayward ya blow me?" Very clear golden color. Aroma of corn adjuncts and some spicy phenols, likely some type of curry. Pretty smooth, corn adjuncts, sweet sugary malt, not a bad likka.
