Super Strong Beer
India’s largest selling strong beer, poised to be the number 1 brand in the country, with an annual sale of over 10 million cases. Smooth tasting yet with a malty flavour and enjoyably strong.

(Bottle) Clear golden amber with slight white head. Slight caramel sweet aroma. Medium bodied, almost sticky. Light to medium carbonation. Sugary sweet with some initial hint of tang and some slight but harsh bitterness towards the finish. Drinkable, but not good.

Sweet carmely thin not very enjoyable. Arab is corn. Obvious corn and sugar is used in this beer. It is tolerable but not spectacular. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"Bought during the trials (Hayward Field) and drank during the olympics. great name, mediocre beer. eh...mediocre is being too nice. It’s crap, but not nearly as bad as some. Corny, grassy, slightly medicinal...light, watery, slightly refreshing when it’s 98 out. Not much else to say :)"

Muted, slightly tinny aroma. Clear, straw gold. Big fluffy ivory head. Sturdy bomber bottle good label. Sweetish. Oxidized malty notes. Low bittering. Medium body. Nothing much going on here. Glad I didn’t pay $9 in an Indian restaurant for this one. Beer Stop, Tallahassee. Apparently they sell 24 million cases of this in India every year. I doubt my rating is more than spitting in a blast furnace.

11.2 oz bottle. My first beer from India and my second malt liquor. Clear orange yellow with slight residual foam. Nose is whole wheat dough and mild grass. Sugar-watery with a soft buzz. Oily finish then papery. Taste is duck sauce, yams, citrus pith and cardboard. Almost 2 years old; maybe better fresher.

Bottle at my favorite Indian restaurant. Aroma is mild, giving you no indication of the onslaught your taste buds are about to endure. Horrible flavor. Super sweet. Vile.

This comes in a highly fancy foil-topped bottle. The taste is fancy too if by fancy you mean relatively flavorless for an eight percent malt liquor. It is a nice clear yellow orange and only reveals its general low quality w/ its lack of head. It smells pretty much like nothing and tastes like surgical tape and apple juice, which is not all that terrible considering the scope of flavors available on this planet. The carbonation in this serves the dual purpose of drying out the flavor and stopping your from drinking it too fast because it is way too vigorous. This stuff claims to be the world’s most popular strong beer and I can see why. It totally rearanges your brain and does not taste like some sort of vile toxic sludge. Probably if I had grown up in India I would have chugged this by the gallon as a young man. It is not a bad beverage at all. Well, actually, it is pretty bad but it serves the purpose for which it was made as well as anything on the planet which is kind of commendable after a fashion.

Ugh. To give you an idea, this was served to me in a paper bag at a bottle shop (Special Brews). Nose has a lot of corn in there, with a harsh liquor sweetness coming off it, like cheap booze. Taste is slightly sweet up front, and feels harsh and sickly. Bleh.
