Super Strong Beer
Indiaís largest selling strong beer, poised to be the number 1 brand in the country, with an annual sale of over 10 million cases. Smooth tasting yet with a malty flavour and enjoyably strong.

22 oz bottle The beer poured a pale blond color with a small head and lacing. The pale lager had a light aroma with a very light citrusy nose. The beer had a dry mouthfeel with some sweetness. The medium body beer had average carbonation. The lager had ordinary bitterness with smooth finish. this enjoyed at an Indian Restaurant . It was a nice fit for the spicy food.

Smells grainy, raw and strong. Looks innocent enough. Sweet weird malt taste, not artificial so much as unfinished. Very smooth at least, in the same was a mellower US malt liquor, rather than stinging like the meaner ones. Feels heavy in the gut however. Surprisingly inoffensive for a cheap beer. Hard to believe the countryís best seller is this strong. A Miller product via the South Africa merger no doubt, which is probably how it wound up on my desk.

650 ml undated bottle poured golden yellow; ample carbonation; short-lived off-white head leaves a lasting ring. Aroma is not bad but can be described as a slightly skunky lager. T Ė starts sweets and finishes mildly bitter. A hoppy lager in which the higher ABV is too apparent in the flavor. Has a pretty good finish. M Ė Higher carbonation; too much tingle as a result of higher ABV plus carbonation level. Medium body. ABV also makes this slightly harsh. O Ė Average quality, more or less, in a high ABV macro-lager.

This might be popular in India... but it isnít popular here. This is a boring "domestic" beer experience for me. It does have some subtle sweetness going on there, but not barleywine sweetness. This would be a good food beer, and I can see myself drinking a gallon of this by the pool. Glad we got the chance to try it, but not my favorite flavor. Oh, and itís a malt liquor. Fun!

Pours slightly hazed dark gold with a thin grey-white head. Aroma is light fruit, apple, pear, berry... Taste is sweetly fruited, grain malt. Truly not bad....considering itís a pale lager and from where it hails from... Pretty tasty...not bad....not bad at all.

Itís not bad...a big imperial lager. Listed a 8% on my bottle. Malty heavy, not too macro tasting sweet finish. Better cold no doubt though.

Mild apple aroma; sweet adjunct flavors... no hops discernible. Pleasantly sweet makes the tandori chicken go down...

12 oz bottle from Dís in Pittsburgh. I see that the ratings are kind of low, but I liked this one for what it is. Had a nice lingering taste that stayed with you and was pleasantly smooth overall making the experience above average. Try it yourself and give it a fair chance.

11.2oz bottle, bottled 6/4/12, from Jungle Jimís in Eastgate. Clear golden color, some bubbles on the side of the glass. Thin white head fizzes away to minima;. Few dots of lace. Soft, pronounced carbonation. Medium body. Bready malt, lagery flavor that somehow tastes Indian. Maybe some light lemon, light apple. Alcohol not terribly noticable. Sort of savory, salty taste, light bitter. Nothing great about this, but not all that bad, either. Probably would be cool with Indian food.
