1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Serving: 650 ml. bottle at a local Indian restaurant. It pours a pale gold with an active white head. The nose is all sweet grain and alcohol. The flavor is a mix of buttery notes, dough, and a touch of sourness with alcohol on the back end. Ugh. A slight fruitiness emerges as the beer warms. Imperial pils my ass, this is malt liquor.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
650 mL bottle. Pours a light yellow gold with white head. The aroma is skunk, laundry detergent, leaves, and soured grain. The flavor is grainy with some soap and hay notes. It doesnít taste as bad as it smells, but Iím still gonna dump it out.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Had at an Indian restaurant in Charlottesville. Pours a golden straw with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma was some mild graininess and a merest hint of lemongrass. Tastewise it was again sweet grains, a trace of biscuits and toast. Nothing special, but nothing offensive either. As I commented to the wife, it is better than Staropramen.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
650ml bottle - $2.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a crystal clear, yellow body with a sudsy, quickly deflating, white head.
Smell: Washed out malts tones with a sweet-scented corn-hinting element to it and whiff of astringent cleaner.
Taste: Mild, meager pale maltiness with a sweetness of corn sugar powder. Lightly fruity, like a dash of Martinelliís sparkling apple-grape juice that had subsequently gone a bit flat and tired. No real hop flavor or bitterness, instead you get a small pinch of chemically alcohol. Warming, sweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Unpleasant and coarse but not entirely undrinkable, itís like an India-born malt liquor.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
I didnít wake up thinking I was gonna be rating a terrible Indian Lager, but here we are...The worst part of it was this weird harsh medicinal bitterness that tasted like chewing on aspirin. Ugh.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not much aroma but like wet dough. A light-colored beer. Fresh, mountain air taste that carries notes of frozen grape juice. Clean palate. Pretty good beer.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Finally I summoned the courage to tackle the famous Haywardís- big thanks to Nav again for sourcing me this one. Pours pale with bright carbonation and a lowering foam retreating to the edges of the glass. Aroma not unpleasant; slightly perfumed and lemony with a suggestion of Madeira cake dipped in disinfectant and cherry palinka. Thereís some watermelon, pine and envelope adhesive there, too. Like the other strong Indian lagers Iíve tried (1), this carries the alcohol deceptively well; thatís not to say itís a brilliant beer- it tastes (at first) like licking an envelope marinated in TCP, with a glycerol snottiness coating the roof of the mouth. However, the overall experience is disappointingly palatable- the corn, raffia-like pine, lemon drop and flour-dusted rubber kicks in and distracts from the TCP weirdness to the extent you find yourself...just getting pleasantly pissed, really- which I suppose is the point. Nav is going to have to try harder to source me some genuine subcontinental exoticism.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Super Premium beer *rollseyes*. 650ml brown gold foiled bottle.
It pouts a bpss yellow with not much visible carbonation bubbles and a quickly dissipating white head with no lacing.
No smell really, maybe hint of corn and lemon.
Tastes like walnuts, almond extract, alcohol, lemon, and corn.
Mouthfeel is super watery.
It is not good.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cool, india pale lager, IPL, heheh. Looks like pale lager. Smell is mild lager, no volatile hints of 7+%! Strong initial nearly cheap ice lager almost malt liquor feel. Fairly easy to takefor a rather high alky beer. Tdescription of this beer is quigte funny, heheh. Pretty good CO2 sizzle. Finish aproaches rude but is more civilized than american vresions, if they can be compared.

It is a good lager. I have had it a couple of times and it is worth trying.
