Super pale yellow with almost no head. The aroma is somewhat usual lager tones with some burnt sugar notes. The flavor is cloyingly sweet, with very little else. Tastes like sugar water.

650 ml. bottled 03-05-2015 label says "for export out of India" and "alcohol strength not exceeding 8% v/v" so maybe this is the 8% "Bold" version? Pour is clear golden with a thin film of creamy bubbles. Smell is sweet rice, corn, honey, dried grass, booze and a bit of skunk. Flavors of sweet corn, caramel, rice and a touch of dried grass. Medium body is sweet and a touch boozy. Light-medium carbonation. I don’t mind a malty brew, but I could only stomach about half of this bomber bottle before I had to bail on this one.

Quite normal and not so strong as the label sayd. Intersting to drink with some pakoori and nice rice.

16oz can I brought back from India, pours a clear yellow with some cloudy, white head. Nose could be worse, malt, corn, butter, lemon. Flavor is grossly sweet, candy corn, lemon, malt, industrial too. Gross finish.

Haywards 5000 has a thin, white head, a clear, yellow-gold appearance, tiny, white sediment specks, throughout, and some sheet lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of honey-topped white bread, green apple, white bread crust, malt, golden raisin, and rice pudding. Taste is of those elements, with sharp alcohol notes (think of V.S. brandy), some grain husk, honey, corn, and a touch of low-level, rounding hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Haywards 5000 finishes crisp and enjoyable. RJT

From a 330ml bottle on 1/5/2016. Pours a clear light golden. The nose features some light apple and grain. Flavour wise, it’s very sweet and fruity - certainly has more than a hint of apple juice about it. Finishes with a very mild bitterness. Medium bodies with average carbonation. Doesn’t come across as 7%. An unusual, slightly cider like brew which isn’t too bad at all.

Bottle split at Cotts Convention ii, thanks to the ML dirt bags, 05/03/16. Pale golden blonde with a moderate off white covering. Nose is grain, paper, honey, faint caramel. Taste comprises aspartamtic notes, paper, straw, grain, pale malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Meh.

Bottle share at Cotteridge II as ’Haywards 5000’. Many thanks to the malt liquor appreciation society for providing this one. Pale yellow, clear, still, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is sickly sweet, corny, honey. Body is light-ish, soft carbonation. Taste is light and insipid, sweetcorn, sugary wet biscuit. Ych a fi.

Scopey (12504) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2016
Bottle thanks to Richy / Sarky / Boosty at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours clear gold with a medium+ white head. The aroma is simple, grainy, cracker, white bread and cereal. The taste is crazy sweet, sugary, sweet white bread, earth, dirty honey, sweetcorn and a sort of oiliness. Finish is sweet and sugary. Medium body and average carbonation. Damn this is sweet and filthy. A challenge to drink.
