COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Haywards Black, India’s first genuine stout beer , is handcrafted from a rich blend of the world famous Caledon valley dark roasted barley malt along with a blend of imported and locally produced pale malts. New Zealand’s super alpha hops give Haywards Black a unique and pleasantly bitter taste with a hop like aroma. The Dark Roasted malt provides a rich dark colouring along with a unique smoky taste and aroma. The Slow brewing process which incorporates specially managed yeast creates the creamy head and the rich smooth taste that stout is so much loved for. Haywards Black is brewed under the special care of renowned brew masters with many years of brewing expertise and rich experience from the SABMiller stable , One of the largest brewing companies in the world with a brewing heritage of over a hundred years.

Bottled. Very dark brown with a light reddish gleam. Fluffy light brown head. Roast, sweetness, unroasted coffee in the aroma. Flavour is roasted as well. Has distinct sweetness, sterin, light chocolate, some herbal notes. Is rather thin bodied. Quite sticky. Has a somewhat artificial touch. Seems a bit onedimensional to me, and could easily be mistaken for a dunkel. Not much hop in this beer, which totally lacks bitterness in the end. Supposedly the first stout made in India. Still has some ground to cover before they make a stout of my likings. Still nice to celebrate my beer no 4100 with the first Indian stout.

Courtesy of Madsberg, thank you a lot for bringing this to Denmark for me! The color is nice, dark brown with a red hue and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, raisin and licorice. The flavour has sweetness and notes of raisin, roasted malt, caramel and light, sweet licorice and it ends on a dry note. The overall impression is thin/watery, but otherwise descent.
