Commercial Description:
OG: 1.072
FG: 1.012
Steinbock is a smooth, bock-like ale with a rich malt aroma and a hint of hops. This beer features toast and caramel notes with a touch of fruitiness. It finishes slightly sweet with just enough bitterness to balance. This seasonal beer is so popular that Hazel Dell now brews it year 'round.

4oz Taster - Spring Beer & Wine Festival - Portland, OR
Aroma – Nice strong ale aroma with good sue of malts and hops.
Appearance – Brown in color, clear with a little head.
Flavor – Very nice dark malts caramel, coffee flavor came off this. Lite hops this was nicely brewed.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, good texture finished very dry.
Overall – Sweet in the flavor this beer has some great malts used. I liked the overall flavor this was interesting as the finish was dry but I got such sweet flavors from it as you drink. Hard to put down.

A little sweet on the palate, with some caramel, toffee and maple syrup, almost tastes like it has seem some American oak, just a little bit of a bite of some kind of spice in the finish.

OBF 2004. Dark orange. Maple nose, creamy too. Creamy toffee and maple flavor, strong wood tones as well. Very smooth and thick, nice frothy and peppy texture.

On tap at the Oregon Brewers Festival 04. Pours a cloudy red/dark amber with a small ivory head. Aroma is sweet and malty, slightly caramel like. Taste starts similar with a sweet caramel taste and ends with a medium bitterness. Slight fruity spice to this brew, nothing special, but very drinkable.
