2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BruceLeroy (109) - USA - AUG 18, 2002
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2003 Pretty decent brew. Fruity and malty. Goes very well with food if you drink one or two. Definately has a decent attempt at East Indian taste to it (whatever that means). East Indian food is the spiciest damn food I've ever tasted, but hey everyone loves spice. This beer sure as hell wouldn't put out any fire because of it's own natural hotness. Although, to be honest the only food I've ever tried it with was Italian. As said earlier this has no head, but I'm not necessarily sure that's what is meant to be accomplished with this. Also it has very low carbonation (a la no head). GOOD STUFF. Not an IPA as far as I know, though it could almost pass for one. I dislike IPA's, but this ale is great! This is definately the best offering from this brewer. Basically everything else they sell is crap.
RERATE:Just had a sixpack and boy has this stuff gone downhill!! No carbonation or flavor to speak of. This is nothing like the stuff I used to drink about a year ago. What happened???
1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 RSRIZZO (1683) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 26, 2007
Had this beer on 7/24/2000. Aroma is a lightly sour malt scent. Color is a pale gold with light carbonation and head. Taste is like a piece of burnt bark. Starting with a medium body it goes down sharp. Finish is BAD, it comes on with a taste that is like burnt malt ground up with stale wood. Overall this may be one of the worst beers I’ve ever had and is definitely the worst beer H.C. has ever made. I just don’t know what they where thinking.

Bottle from Party Town, KY. Poured amber color with a moderate white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Heavy sweet flavor with a sweet finish of average duration. This did not meet my expectations.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 AlchemistZ (493) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 23, 2005
Old notes. Light in body, crisp but insipable when cold, as it warms its drinkability increases and the finish weighs in with a complex caramel maltiness. Light, but rich red in color. Very little bitterness.
1.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20 turbo (1269) - Arizona, USA - FEB 27, 2005
Poured red amber with no head or lacing.
Aroma and flavor of malt made this beer too sweet for me.
Drainpour.

This is better than any Indian beer I have had. A fine example of a English pub ale. Very malty, some sediment, on the whole a very drinkable beer.

Could use a large blast of hops to even things out. Very malty. Not sure what the India connection is but nothing like anything Indian I’ve ever had IMHO. I enjoyed it but probably won’t look for it again.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Kaya161 (1128) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 11, 2002
Golden-yellow colour. Caramel malt aroma. Caramel malt flavour with just a hint of spicy hop flavour right before the sweet finish. Reminds me of Redhooks ESB.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Aurelius (3147) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 17, 2002
All malt nose. Hazy tea colored brew with cool label, and griffin & barley emblem. Dinging it for the twistoff. Thin palate. Malty brew with a tea-herbal aftertaste. Not very balanced, but OK and a little different.
