Cask, Leicester Fest 10. Bright but pale gold with a thin foam. Aromas are grapefruit and lemon with plenty of hops. Flavours are hoppy with lots of citrus. Dry with grapefruit bitterness. Has a nice yeasty sparkle. Some woody, dry notes on the finish. Decent.

Cask (gravity) Smithfield Fest 2, Derby. Not unpleasant, it just feels like a let-down in the afterwash of a few well-hopped beers I had previously. It’s not too far removed from their usual output, rounded hops held up in a decent mid-citric body. In fact, it feels just a tad more more bolshy - dry hopped, perhaps? But there’s some muddle here with the base beer not being allowed to shine.

Cask at the Flowerpot, Derby. Brilliantly clear straw colour with a trace of white head - not quite headless; strongly citrus aroma; the flavour is also very citrus with lime and grapefruit and a honeyed sweetness; the bitterness builds slowly to give a long, dry and slightly spicy finish. This one really hits the spot.
