CapFlu (3235), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jul 7, 2006 (650ml bottle) Pours a medium, almond-coloured head with a deep amber body. I wrote that the nose is "grassy" and "assy" - all in all an unpleasant. It does have the subtle malted lager flavour but there is a straw or grass flavour with undertones of tin that makes it uncomfortable to swallow. Radek Kliber (3081), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 10, 2006 Dark gold with decent white head. Toasted malts and green bitter hop aroma. Medium bodied lager with more of malty base with green bitter, earthy aftertaste. Maybe there were some medicinal notes as well. Drinkable brew. HogTownHarry (3028), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Mar 26, 2006 Draught. At Smokeless Joe, shared with blankboy. Poured pale, slightly amber gold with a foamy white head. Generic aroma of lightly toasted candyish malt and honeyish grain. Taste is also lightly toasty, grainy, sweet - at least I don’t taste chemicals, a little harsh in the finish. Watery, lightly carbonated mouthfeel - it’s drinkable, but not much of a change from standard Canadian attempts at pale lagers. Lubiere (3011), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2006 Golden lager with a thin dissipating white head. Crisp hops aroma with a rather sweet fruity esters wafting through. In mouth, a rather sweet lager with interesting sharp hops, lingering in mouth. The sweetness was a bit of a turnoff. LCBO. jerc (2901), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 13, 2006 Orangey yellow body, with a small white head. Grassy hops in the aroma. Light bitterness, grassy hops and grainy malt. Average palate. Not as good as the pale ale.
