I tried this beer on April 3, 2008 after purchasing from on eof the local LCBO outlets. The beer smells putrid. The colour is a translucent dark orange-gold with a fluffy white head. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, with some mild carbonation. The flavour is slightly sweet, with a slight bitter finish.
Linus_Stick (1459), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Via trade with matt7125. Thanks! A nice helles with more flavor than most. Aroma was so so. Light malt and a hint of spiciness. Pour was a nice medium gold with a one finger white head. Taste was very hoppy for this style. A hint of citrus with bread and corn throughout. Dry bitter aftertaste. Very unique. mannika (67), Toronto, Canada Jul 3, 2008 473 mL can. Pours a golden with moderate head. Aroma is nice and well balanced. Flavour is initially very spicy but yields to a sweet, dry, pleasant finish. Quite nice. markas101 (339), Fargo, North Dakota, USA Jun 17, 2008 473 ml can, Shelburne, ON. Deep golden/amber colour, thin head. spicy malt aroma that is subdued by a sweet/corny smell. Quite carbonated with a sharp hop bite, but then a bit light. Not a bad offering but nothing like the Munich lagers of, dare I say, Munich. robinvboyer (950), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 16, 2008 473ml can. Nice golden colour. Good sized thick head. Nice bready aroma, with some decent hops, and a nice bready maltiness. The flavour though is a different story, it tastes of cheap grain, with a sickly sweet malty corny bite, with a bit of a metallic aftertaste. mabel (1246), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 11, 2008 [1202-20080308] 473mL can. Slightly plasticy wood grain alcohol aroma with a vegetable background. Clear, amber orange body with a big long-lasting foamy white head. Bland grainy alcohol flavour with woody yeast notes. Medium body. Fair.
