I had this one at the brewery as part of a sampler. Great roast nose. Smooth. Almost no hops.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Frog Level Brewing as the guest tap. Pours a rich, almost opaque mahogany into the glass, with a choco-tan head that leaves ring lacing. The nose is of chocolate and roasts. Flavors are of chocolate, molasses, roasted grains, light coffee and caramel, finishing with roasted dark esters. The palate is creamy, but not dense in the round body. Complex and semi-sweet, I do enjoy this brew. Good job.

Best porter in WNC. A smooth porter with a hint of mocha at the finish. Better get your pint quick. It’s a quick seller as many customers turn up as soon as it’s on tap.

Pint at tasting room. This has become oneof my, if not the fav porter out of Western North Carolina. A dark, rich and robust porter with a nice moderate head and good lacing. The malt mixture works extremely well with undertones of coffee and mocha. Finishes with just the right amount of bite. I plan to show up, growler in hand, whenever this is offered at the tasting room, as it doesn’t seem to last long!
