3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a rich orange color with a visibly viscous body and a thick white head. It has a very malty aroma for the style with notes of toasted brown sugar, toffee and grassiness. The palate is thick with a sharp chalky bite. The heavy malts suffocate the hops which are only evident through a nondeScript bitterness and some grassy citrus in the finish. The alcohol is pretty well masked, but is suggested through the sugariness and stickiness of the palate. I like the hops to be the centerpiece of a double IPA, so this is not a beer that I’m particularly into. That being said, it is reasonably tasty.
