hopscotch (4679), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 18, 2005 Draft at Empire State building location... Clear, yellow ale with a creamy, white head. Good retention. Pleasant, fruity aroma that I can’t quite place... maybe some pear and almond liquer. Reminiscent of the aroma in any Italian pastry shop on Mulberry Street, NYC. Well-balanced flavor. Lightly sweet and breadsy. Nutty, spicy and fruity. Well-hidden alcohol. Medium-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Good stuff. JoeMcPhee (3899), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 24, 2007 Tap at the Empire State location. Lightly hazy pale golden beer. Aroma is very estery, peach, overripe apricot and light apple. Honey sweetness and some higher alcohol dirtiness that becomes more apparent as the beer warms. The flavour is sweet and full of fat juicy apricot flavour. A hint of spice, but it leans more toward the honey and fruity side of the equation. Overly sweet and gets cloying as the beer warms up. Chewy and honeyed sweetness. Thick texture. Not a great example and the fruitiness gets terribly overwhelming. Meh. Dickinsonbeer (2565), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2005 Cloudy straw yellow, with a fading head. Aroma is estery, grassy, perfumey, and slightly fruity. Flavors of yeast, sweet malt, phenolics and fruity esters. Noticed a bit of fusels as well. Moderate amount of spice from the yeast or additional spicing as well. Somewhat smooth finish. Volgon (2463), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Oct 12, 2002 On tap GABF 02: Rich sweet nose, hazy yellow color. Thin tasting without a good Belgian bite. willblake (1952), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Apr 18, 2005 04.16.05 Brewtopia ’05 Pure golden color with creamy white head. Tip top tripel aromas are tropical, floral, melon. Very effy and lively. Flavors abruptly vegetal and grainy, seems young or raw, not to par with good Belgians or Allagash. Nice alcohol spice. A good tripel but seems like it was made in a hurry.
