Part of the sampler at the bar. Clear yellow with a white head. Light hop and malt flavor. Nothing special though, very plain.

A Sim rate (tap at Heartland Brewery, Union Square): Nothing, nothing there. It could be worse. It could smell like lager. Looks like lager with a bit of lace. Surprisingly nice flavour. I only say that because I’m not a lager-lover, but could tolerate this. Such sweetly-subtle malts. Delightful. Almost want to give it a ’7’. Sweet, malty finish that’s delightful.

Part of a Seasonal Sampler at the Chophouse location. Clear yellow, white head. Aroma is malty and slightly hoppy. Flavor is super wheaty. Nothing special here.

5 oz sampler, draught at Union Square. Pours a light golden color with minimal aroma. Taste is very refreshing and malty and no evidence of hops. Minimally sweet. Palate is smooth and overall a decent especially considering its a pale lager. Very subltle and not an overpowering taste.

On my paper the commercial description is different: Crisp and smooth, our golden lager is crafted from midwestern malts and flaked sweet corn. This is our most refreshing beer, with ma mellow maltiness and a light clean finish. For me nothing special, tasted in NYC in 2004

Golden color, small white head. Malty, a bit caramelly and citrusy nose. Light palate. Light citrusy notes, pale malts. Quickly fading aftertaste. Ok craft "bulk" lager, but no need for another sample.

Draught at the Heartland Pub, Times Square, NYC. Golden color, creamy offwhite head. Malty aroma with some toffee. Malty, fruity and bitter hop flavor. Grassy bitter finish.

On tap at the Empire State Building location. Corny (no really) cloyingly sweet aroma. Medium yellow, small white head. taste is again too sweet, very bland, and not enjoyable at all. Ugh, and this was after the really solid light beer to start.

Too sweet for any beer. Also, too fizzy. Perhaps a good example of a micro trying to appeal to the unsophisticated masses by simultaneously combining Pabst and Smirnoff Ice. That said, a fairly good attempt considering its a corn beer. Good use of hops as well. I am appeased.

On tap at the Union Square location on 9/15/07: Pours a transparent dark golden bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of grainy pale malt with some mild grapefruity hops. Body starts with decent fullness and some light caramel malty sweetness with a light citrus balance. A decent lager.
