2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Papsoe (23023) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2005
(On tap) Not that pale, rather dark golden in colour. As most Heartland Brews this hasn’t much of a head. Quite aromatic but suffering from a hoppiness that I find a bit too aggressive on the palate. Not that balanced.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 29, 2008
A Sim rate (tap at Heartland Brewery, Union Square): Nothing, nothing there. It could be worse. It could smell like lager. Looks like lager with a bit of lace. Surprisingly nice flavour. I only say that because I’m not a lager-lover, but could tolerate this. Such sweetly-subtle malts. Delightful. Almost want to give it a ’7’. Sweet, malty finish that’s delightful.

A golden orange lager with a thin lacing white head. A good malt base with nice caramel notes in aroma. In mouth, a classic pils, czech in style, with lots of hops, biscuitty malts, and a nicely oily mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Tasted at the Union Square location, Nov. 2006.
