On tap at Heartland in Union Square with Haeberle, Lauck and Goffman. I really enjoyed the Heartland Empire State Premium. I think it is one of the best beers made by Heartland and would order again. Hazy yellow color with a light but intriguing aroma. The bitter hops are nicely balanced with sweet malts leading to a nice clean finish.

actually thought it was quite good, especially for the style. a pale czech lager, crisp, very well balanced...one i’d actually consider buying in the bottle."

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy golden yellow color. Bar pour yielded no head. There was a fair amount of carbonation seen rising. The smell didn’t have much other than some light sweet corn. The taste was mainly sweet. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Overall, mainly a decent pale lager.

This beer is pretty pathetic. Light, pale, flavorless. It has it’s place as a refresher on a hot New York afternoon.

On draught at the brewpub on 8th Ave by the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Arrived to the table a clear gold color with a thin white head that lasted beyond the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Mild aroma grain with a faint hint of grassy hops. The flavor is bready malt with again just a slight hint of grassy hops. Smooth on the palate with very mild bitterness at the finish. No problems.

On tap. Found this to be pretty watery. A light scent of hay. It tastes very much the same and goes down like water. Kind of novelty with its name and all, but nothing else special here.

5oz sampler from the brewpub NYC. Pours a clear golden color with a small white foamy head. Aroma of yeast, lemon citrus, and grain. Taste of grain, corn husk, sugary lemon, and yeast.

Tap at Heartland, Union Square, 24/11/13. Clear pale golden with a moderate off white head that retains well. Nose is pale malt, sweaty socks, corn, cereals, light citrus. Taste comprises corn, cereal, light caramel, sugars, fairly sweet. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp closure. Ok pale lager.

Very pale. This beer is so dry that it needs something else to balance it out...unfortunately that something is not present in the beer already :(
