On tap at Heartland in Union Square with Haeberle, Lauck and Goffman.
I really enjoyed the Heartland Empire State Premium. I think it is one of the best beers made by Heartland and would order again. Hazy yellow color with a light but intriguing aroma. The bitter hops are nicely balanced with sweet malts leading to a nice clean finish.

Dec 18, 2009 Tap at union sq. Pours a clean yellow/gold color. Arouma is mostly corn with some fruit notes. Taste of butterscotch malts & bread. A bit dry and, I think, too much corn in this one.

Dec 4, 2009 On tap in USA. Straw yellow color, Nice head. Hoppy aroma. Hoppy orange taste. Palate is as the taste is light. This is the typical American Ice Cream flavored brewery stuff. A good beer. Best one I had here.

Aug 30, 2009 Draft. Pours light gold with a white head. Light malty aroma with a very light earthy hop notes. Similar flavor profile, again just a touch of earthy hops. Enough flavor to be mildly interesting.

Aug 26, 2009 a bit weak, muted and dirty tasting i did not find this one to be impressive. it also was a bit light in body and therefore unremarkable.the spice was a distraction and seemed to me to be a coverup or some failed enhancement. perhaps the Empire State deserves better.

Jul 24, 2009 Tap at Heartland Brewery and Rotisserie yesterday. Pale straw coloured Czech styled lager with crisp clean and dry hoppiness in abundance. Aromatic too, with slight nutmeg spice. Very dry mouthfeel with citric hpooy finish.

Jun 12, 2009 Even thought his is a premium lager, I still smell and taste corn adjuncts in it. The aroma is malty, fruity, corn. The appearance is true to the style, gold, with a white head, strong carbonation. The flavor is malty, sweet, corn, some light fruit,. The finish is more sweet than bitter, but some hops evince themselves late in the game. thin/medium mouthfeel. Not bad.
