On tap. Pours with a deep brown body with some orange highlights. Lasting (possibly nitro?) tan head. Aromas are of coffee, nutty, bready, cocoa, espresso, earthy, dusty and perhaps a twist of orange peel. Flavors are bready, nutty, earthy cocoa. Very mild roast. Smooth. A bit watery though. Nice malt character, a touch of leather, medium to light bodied, creamy. Easy drinking.

On tap at the midtown location. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, stale coffee, sweet malt. Flavor is roasted, bitter, and chalky. Smooth palate. Decent oatmeal stout, nothing I’m writing home about. 7/4/6/3/13 (3.3/5)

Taken from notes... Black color, thick and rich half finger tan head with good lacing. Nose is roasted malts and dark chocolate. Taste is a bitter sweetness with good oatmeal, flavors of dark chocolate and raisins, black licorice and anise with sweetness

Sample @ Heartland Times Square. Pours opaque with large foamy head even in the 4oz sample glass. Chocolate aroma; chocolate flavor. Quite drinkable, and very good, but maybe thinner than I expect from a stout.

Draught at Radio City. Dark brown with a brown head. Flavor heavy malty, roasted, light burnt, dark chocolate. Flavor medium sweet and bitter, perfect balanced. Medium body, slight thin. Bravo.

Tap at Empire St. Building location. Pours a dark black with tan head. Some lacing. Roasty nose. Flavor of coffee and chocolate. Seemed relatively light-bodied. Smooth mouthfeel. 1st time Kara sampled a stout. She’ll stay with the IPA’s.
