3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2010 Location: Had this one on draft at the Union Square location of the Brewpub on the 4th of July
Aroma: It had a nose of light nuttiness, some earth, light hop notes, a subtle nose
Appearance: The color is dark reddish-brown with a creamy and lasting beige head, lots of lace
Flavor: The flavor is nutty and caramel malts, mild on the hop bitterness
Palate: It has a medium body, and it is somewhat on the creamy side
First off, it was served WAY WAY too cold. I had to let it warm for a while before I got any of the above impressions. Decent, but not really a nut brown IPA, just a nut brown.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Pours deep amber with a lasting beige head. Nutty sweet aroma, with sweet caramel and lighter hoppy notes. The flavor has sweet caramel and roasted ruts, a hint of espresso, and spicy/floral hops. Not as hoppy as I expected, but still quite good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma is nuts, slight chocolate, earthy. The flavor is ike the aroma, but substantially more chocolate. The appearance is a brown color, thin and translucent, off-white head. The finish is a mild bittering, from noble hops. The body is straight up the middle medium. Not bad, fairly run of the mill stuff.
