A copper colored ale of good strength. Effervescent bitterness, smooth malt flavor and a flowery hop aroma.

Tasted this at the bar on tap in New York City just off Times Square. It was promising in aroma and color but the hops were too overpowering even for this style of beer. Not balanced by enough alcohol content and the mouthfeel was light and bubbly like a lager more than an IPA. F Avey---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a golden copper color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, hops, grass and some pine. The taste was similar to the aroma with more citrus, hops, some bitterness and a touch of sweetness. Good IPA.

Draft at the Heartland Brewers Port Authority. The ale poured a cloudy light Amber with an off white frothy head and lacing. You detect a hoppy aroma of citrus. The taste had more of the same with some roasted malt as well. A nice hop bitterness was experienced. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. The finished cleanly with some lingering grapefruit bitterness.

On draft, 41st & 8th Manhattan location, served in a shaker glass. Pours cloudy deep copper color, two finger rocky head. Laces well with some retention. Aroma wildflowers and caramel. Taste is well balanced, slightly sweet, medium bitterness. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sticky mouth feel. Finishes slightly bitter. Tasting notes of mango, orange, light pine and caramel. I enjoyed this, very drinkable.

From tap. Pours amber with a slight haze and a small white head. Aroma is light hops with a hint of caramel malts. Taste was underwhelming with a mild hoppiness and slight bitterness. An ok beer but nothing exciting.

Appearance: pours with a medium off white head that has decent retention, the beer is a very hazy orange color Aroma: not picking up much at all Taste: very strong bitterness, not much malt sweetness to compete with the hops Palate: lively carbonation, medium mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste Overall: had on draft at the brewery, intensely bitter with very minimal malt backbone, could use more character but not bad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. It pours an unclear, orange colored body under a white head leaving lacings. The aroma is piney and grapefruity with some pale malts in the back. There’s a good bitterness in the flavor, with pine cones, resins and grapefruity hops, and a malty back that isn’t running the show. Full body, a bit heavy on the carbonation. Lasting finish with bitterness and piney hops dominating. A nice one indeed. Not superb, but sure nice. Drinks easy too. 150624
