ultraspank (856), Dublin, Ohio, USA Jun 2, 2004 Had a pint of this while relaxing at the Brewpub at the South St. Seaport in Manhattan. Nose of heavy citrus and spice. The brew is a sparkling copper. The thick white creamy head is fully lasting with great lacing. The outstanding flavor has everything I like in just about the perfect mix; bitter, spicy, citric - very satisfying. The brew has a moderate acidity and a long burnt/toasty bitter finish. The medium body is soft and dry. A treat for any hophead. obxdude10 (1403), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 22, 2002 Awesome IPA, great balance as it had a great malt background, very citrusy, dark orangle to light amber in color, kept a very nice lacy head throughout the pint, lots of hop bitterness in the flavors & the aroma as well as the aftertaste, but again great balance with the malt flavors, excellent IPA
MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Mar 31, 2003 Typical IPA, but a good example of a typical IPA. Bright gold. Hoppy nose, expectedly very hoppy grapefruit flavors with a nice balancing of a malty sweetness. Again, great palate, something I found common in Heartland's brews. Jeppe (2636), Ølbutikken, Denmark Aug 16, 2004 Draught at Heartland Brewery, New York.<br />Clear amber colored beer with a creamy lasting off-white head. Hops is dominating in the aroma, very well-balanced. Flavor is heavy bitter hoppy and dry with flower tones. Again the bitterness is very well-balanced. Creamy mouthful. Surprisingly tasty beer from a mainstream brew pub. notalush (2129), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Mar 19, 2003 This stacks up to the great pale ales in every respect. Substaintial body heavy with sweet malts and a nice hop bite. Like candy with hops.
