Taste was very complex with hints of plum, caramel, nut, raisin. I also got some cinammon like a cinammon stick, which is the spice and defintely chestnut and ginger as well as some orange peels. Very complex beer with a warm aftertaste. One of Heartland’s to savor.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2010 Had this during a drinking lunch at work. An interesting beer for heartland however i found it too nutmegy or gingery. Tasted better as it warmed but something slighty off at first and not something you could drink a lot of. But still glad i had it especially on a wednesday at noon. baraciisch (156), USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Tap at union sq. This is fairly decent for a heartland brew. Pours reddish brown, actually quite pretty. Nothing in this beer really stood out to me. Some roasted/smoky notes with lots of malt flavor and some spice to cap it up. Bitter is mild. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Deep amber/red colour, sweet fruity aroma. Flavour is good malt up front, finishes with a subtle but pleasent bitterness. One fo the better Heartland beers. rugbydude05 (308), Kew Gardens, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 28, 2008 on tap, radio city location. Pours a clear amber color, little head. Aroma is faintly spicy and citrusy. Flavor is fresh and hoppy with some spicyness but nothing in particular stands out. Palate is very smooth and overall the beer is well balanced and very enjoyable. Much more body than many other hearland brews. tgncc (851), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Dec 24, 2008 This is much like the Special Edition, only without the strong alcohol. More a a malty nose, same spicynes, nutmeg, cinnamon, bread and butter. The appearance is a red brown chestnut, slightly less dark red than the Special Edition. The finish is mild hops and soices. Ok, not great. jcwattsrugger (5583), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is sweet medium/dark malt-brown sugar, nutty, dark fruit-plum/orange, some spice. Taste is not quite up to aroma, a bit too much going on, but an OK taste. Mild/minimum carbonation. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2007 I believe served as part of the Voyage series. Deep mahogany in color with notes of heavy malt, sweet hops, and spices in the aroma, a surprisingly refreshing brew from such a heavy mouthfeel. Lots of malts, with intermittent waves of hop coming through, and not much else. Very warming.
