an amber ale that’s a little malt heavy...lots of caramel and toffee, light in the hop department, but still not bad...there’s just better choices in their line-up."

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy red to almost brown color. Bar pour yielded no head and it doesn’t leave any lacing. The smell had some light toasted caramel malts with a light piney hops to it. The taste followed the nose. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued. Overall, this was a pretty decent beer, nothing over the top.

A smooth and malty beer. A caramel flavor throughout. Very mild and not too complicated.

Pours a caramel color with a hops aroma. Taste is mild hoppiness with a small amount of sweetness. Malt flavor throughout, with a good lingering malt flavor on the palate. A Decent amber ale that was complex as a red.

On tap.Aroma was of caramel and roasted malt. Not a bad amber ale at all. Had a great toasty nut and raisin taste with a proper balancing of hops. It was a easy drinking medium bodied ale. Not big on amber ale, but this one is okay by me.

Keg Pint at Heartland, Empire State Building, New York in March 2013 - Amber red in colour. Malty; sweet malts, caramel, some nuts. Sweet malty fruity throughout. OK, but nothing special. Easy drinking.

5oz sampler from the brewpub NYC. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a small foamy off white head. Aroma of caramel, fresh citrus hops, and a hint of yeast. Taste of toasted and caramel malt, citrus zest, and pine.

Tap at Heartland, Union Sq, 24/11/13. Reddish brown with a good size light beige head that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is caramel, sugars, sweet bread dough, light fruit. Taste comprises biscuit malt, caramel, fruitloaf, candied sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth, sweet finale with light bitterness. Ok for style, not much depth but an easy drinker.

On draft at Heartland Union Square. This had a yeasty amber/lager taste. Mediocre. Heartland likes to run advertisements with photos of their smiling brewers showing off their beers, but this one is nothing to be so proud of.
