Notes from 2008 NY visit. Clear reddish amber ale, white head. Nose is chocolatey malt, caramel, brown sugar. This is very malty. Taste is chocolate, caramel, brown sugar but there’s also some ale hop fruit. Touch of hop bitter in the finish but it’s mainly malt dominating.

Flavors are grainy, biscuity, bready, nutty, tea, caramel and orange. Light citrusy hops. A bit sticky on the palate. Full carbonation, medium bodied. Generic amber. No flaws, but not very interesting.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the Empire State Building Location. Nice appearance - dark red/brown, big thick reddish head. Decent hops and light malt sweetness in aroma. Taste is a let down - very watery, some faint roast and light stale hops. This was decent for a red ale.
