Really enjoyed this one. Pours a red brown with a small off white head. Aroma is fairly sweet. Caramel and hops. Has a nice thick toffee backing with a hop resinous feel. Not a bad beer at all

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hearty amber ale: munich malts add a really nice rich caramel, and hops stand out as well. Not as drinkable as some of Heartland’s other offerings, but probably the most flavorful of the regular lineup.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sample at the brewpub. Comes a reddish amber with a small biege head. Aroma of sweet malt and fruit. Taste is dominated by the sweet malt, some hops. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours dark amber/red in color with pretty much no head, aroma is on the sweet side with notes of caramel and sugar. Also in the nose is a tad of spice and toastiness. Flavor is quite strange with a hint of toffee and a big caramel backbone. Slightly bitter finish and medium mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very dark amber color with a minimal head which was gone by the time it was served. Aroma is toffee with some caramel notes. Taste is very unique, one of the few beers with a toffee flavor and a noticeable caramel kick to it. Quite interesting overall, and one of the better options from the sampler I had.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I had this beer a while back and from what I can remember I enjoyed it. I’ve had this at the pub/brewery so it was fresh.
Nothing special about it is popping into my head at the moment.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draught at the brewpub. Herbal flavour, perhaps soy sauce. Cloudy brown colour with big bubbles on the sides of the glass. Small frothy tan head. The flavour is fruity with some cardboard. Slightly tart finish, unclean and perhaps infected.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Union Square, Pours a darkish amber color with a minimal quickly dissipating head. I would love to write a lot about this beer, but alas it is as unremarkable as it gets. An amber ale manifesting all the latent mediocrity of the style. Well-balanced all that. Malty taste and aroma. Minimal hops, and those annoying sweet notes. Not bad, but I feel like I had this before.
