mkobes (2045), paramus, New Jersey, USA Oct 6, 2003 Nice hoppy red ale with a white head. Not much aroma, but has a gentle malt flavor. Tastes good. Very carbonated. bsm80 (105), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 On tap at Heartland Times Square; my favorite home brew from Heartland. A nice balanced aroma and flavor. Hints of toffee and nut, nice bitterness to it, sweet finish. beaconstreet (810), Washington DC, USA Sep 19, 2004 Updated: Mar 31, 2005Really liked this beer. Roasted and delicious. Unique black-gold-tan color that looks cool in the glass. Nice ale aroma, cherry aftertaste? Would have it again, even after our "seasonal journey of beer". More notes: Had this again, on my 22nd birthday, at the Union Sq. location. This seem to be a real explorer’s/traveller’s beer. Ask me what I mean by that later. Caramelly and rich aftertaste on the mouth and teeth. It lingers. It’s wonderful. My favorite non-seasonal Heartland, by far. dwyerpg (2143), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 2, 2006 This one is nice. A solid appearance and has a medium roasty flavoring to it. Also a little nutty. and overall quite nice. Jine (883), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Sep 19, 2004 from the sampler at the Union Square Heartland location. My poorly scribbled notes say "Red." "Ambery." and "Good." , which pretty much sums up this beer
