A nice job with the pumpkin and spices. Not over the top, drinkable. Nice Autumn color.

Brewtopia 11/12/05 Deep golden in color with a small white head. Aroma is all spice-cinamon,ginger, with no real pumpkin charcater in either the aroma or flavor. Another example of a spiced beer, where’s the pumpkin?

On tap at the location near Times Square. Dark copper pour, good thick white lacing. Aroma is slighlty phenolic and medicinal - mellows out to a ripening vegetable scent. Flavor has some Christmas spice, a bit of caramel, finishes with a sweet cinammon candy like flurry. Decently thick mouthfeel.

Tried this in New York. A bit sticky sweet and spicy with a light spicy finish. Lightly bitter from hop. Decent.

Location: Draft at HB Burger, 11/15/13
Aroma: On the light side, some fall spices (not necessarily) pumpkin, and bready malts
Appearance: This one pours in the glass a clear amber-orange color with a small head
Flavor: The taste is much the same, with some spice and bready malts, leans sweet for the style
Palate: The body is light (leaning medium), with a decent mouthfeel, and average carbonation
I thought that this was a below average example of the style. This one is fine, but it leans toward the dull side in most of the categories.

Imagine the faintest possible pumpkin aroma you could have and still say you're serving a pumpkin ale withouth blushing. Fairly bitter. Faint pumpkin/gourd taste. There may be slight cinnamon notes in here as well.

On draught at the Union Square location 2004 (with notes since I meant to review this awhile ago but didn’t get a chance to). Nice amber-orange color. Not much of a head but the lacing on the top was quite nice. Overall an average pumpkin ale. What was good was that it wasn’t overly sweet. Light cinnamon taste at the back of the mouth but not overpowering. Malty, light and refreshing. The flavors don’t really stand out to me and the elements that make up the flavor overall are quite muddled. With that being said however, it was one of the better Heartland brews.

Faint average pumpkin aroma. A solid pumpkin offering. Enough to be noticeable but isn’t too much. Not amazing like Elevator’s Pumpkin beer.

Union Sq. Poured a clear orange copper color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of diacetyl soaked pumpkin. Light seasonal spice. The spices stood out more in the flavor then the diacetyl. Spicey almost tart finish.

I like pumpkins and this one didn’t do it for me. Orange in color not much body. Aroma of some spice but not powerful at all. Taste is pretty bland especially for a pumpkin. Very light malt needs more flavor and body for me. Some clove and cinnimon but fades fast.
