Thanks to Larry and Sherry at Crown. Not normally a fan of blends, but this brew was an exception. Aroma sweet. Barrel comes through, some wood. Sharp bourbon, but not too much. An enjoyable brew.

Tried at a pub by a gracious CBC attendee. Pours dark almost opaque with a nice brown head. Smells of delicious bourbon and oak, some raisin and caramel. Taste was a fantastic bourbon beer, though I believe it could have used a little more time in the barrel, but not bad considering the hurdles the group encountered with liq laws.

12oz bottle thanks to TedSwimmer, the man, the myth, the legend. Pours a nice clear nut brown color with a small tan head that leaves a nice thick tan ring. Great aroma, lots of -bal and bourbon, along with great sweet caramel and toffee notes. A little fruitiness to it even. The flavor is really great, reminiscent of BA Coton. Really toffeeish with sugarplum and date notes. Sweet caramel, vanilla, oak, toasted coconut, and bourbon. Really rich and tasty. Medium-full bodied, silky smooth, with low carbonation and even slight booze. Really killer stuff. Wow, I’m impressed.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 3, 2010
Bottle… Clear, dark, burnt orange ale with a small, beige head. The decadent aroma is an uncomplicated swirl of gooey caramel, sticky vanilla beans and Kentucky bourbon. Full-bodied and velvety with reserved carbonation. Nicely balanced despite all the malt; the flavor is an indulgent blend of buttery praline, vanilla, bourbon and gobs of caramel. Even warm, the caramel shines brightly, but without the normal, accompanying sweetness. Warming, vanilla and bourbon finish.

12oz bottle pours deep copper with tan head. The aroma is rich thick sticky and yummy with minced, smashed and then simmered dried dark fruitiness with sweet molasses, mild and smooth bourbon like notes and caramel candy. Wow. The taste is rich and nectar like with loads of concentrated sweet dark fruits mixing with malt and molasses sweetened citrus followed by a growing smooth bourbon note, some sweet vanilla and a sense of smooth oak. Double wow. This was smooth sweet silky yumminess.

12oz bottle (thanks Josh for sharing!). Poured a deeper mahogany color with an off white head. Aromas of roast, bourbon, some smokiness, and some earth. Tastes of dark fruits, caramel, molasses, bourbon, brown sugar, and wood. On the sweeter side with the alcohol content well hidden.
